TEXT EDITING

One task as an editor is to edit the text which agreed to publish. Once the file is received and we put in our computer, then we start correcting it. It is not just about the correction of typos, but no less important is the author of consistency in terms of writing, spelling, punctuation, and so on. Consistency issues are not going to change the contents of the book mean, but rather on disorders of the reader's concentration. The reader is made disturbed by their promiscuous use of the term instead, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, italics, bold, chemical formulas, physics or mathematics. Readers are supposed to be cool to continue reading, suddenly had to stop because of disturbed by the use of inconsistent spelling and grumbling, and so he closed the book.

TERMS

TRANSLITERATION

PUNCTUATION

Similarly, regarding the use Abbreviations, city names, use capitals, compund words writing, decoding of words and others should always be consistent from beginning to end, there should be alternated.

ACCURACY

Editors must be sensitive to the data presented in the text. Each of the data presented in the text data to be valid and reliable. Do not let the book did not sell well because it presents a lot of data that contain errors. For example:

1. Naming errors

Lots of names are almost the same and should not be reversed, for example, the Prophet Muhammad's grandfather was Abdul Mutholib and not Abu Tholib. US President George Bush Jr. 41 is not but George Bush. The capital of Japan is Tokyo instead of Kyoto. Sultan who invaded Batavia is not the Sultan Ageng, but Sultan Agung and others.

2. Errors mention of unit
